Tobin Booth launched Stokes Vannoy in 2015 as a commercial and industrial solar investment company.

In 2003, Tobin founded Blue Oak Energy, a leading solar engineering and construction company. Through hard work and determination he built and self-financed the company, ultimately  delivering more than 1,500 MW across 900 sites. Blue Oak Energy was launched because Tobin recognized the solar energy industry needed detailed engineering documentation and coordinated construction methods. The company built a diverse customer base, selling engineering services and large-scale solar facilities across North America.

Tobin also developed a solar module protection product line, named the Homerun Combiner Box. The products solved large-scale solar array safety issues and aided the exponential growth in utility scale solar projects. The combiner box products were some of the first to achieve a rigorous safety regulation plus offered safety disconnects for aiding photovoltaic system startup, commissioning and servicing.

Tobin is a dynamic leader who believes that shaping a sustainable business begins with a clear mission and workhorse company culture. He is known as an executive who leads with high integrity, builds entrepreneurial teams and shapes committed working environments. Tobin is a licensed engineer and contractor with a BSME from Colorado State University. He originally hails from North Carolina where his great grandfather, Stokes Vannoy, started the first family business.
